My dog has never been so calm at the vet before. Dr. Beck was so kind and thorough explaining things to us, recommendations and why he recommended them. I feel much more confident about treating my dog now that I have met the staff here. They all were amazing.

My ordinarily healthy and athletic springer spaniel became suddenly lethargic, loss of appetite, and dangerously high fever .Within a matter of hours he could not walk and breathing was quite difficult. Was near death. Rushed to the the Veterinarian Specialist ER in Colorado Springs where he ended up in icu where they were able to at least get him stabilized. Cause a mystery. Dr Bangert spent considerable time researching past cases and somehow came across a UK study that seemed to have a connection to this case, a very rare auto immune condition. Felt our best chance for survival was to treat for this condition. Two days later, Josh is remarkably better, simply amazing. He will be on treatment for quite some tome in the future but prognosis is promising. I have friends in our retriever club that are retired vets who have since reviewed Josh case and all have said they have never come across this condition. Dr Bangerts due diligence I am convinced save my dog’s life. I am very grateful.

The first minute I met Brad Hines, I know Baby would receive the best care possible for her array of health issues. I was hysterical thinking I was going to lose her, and he patiently calmed me down, patted my hand, and said, "I can treat all these issues". He has restored her quality of life. He truly care for his patients and thier families. He is knowledgable, explains things in words I understand, and he ALWAYS returns phone calls. He is an amazing veternarian, and I cannot think of anyone more worthy.

We have had 3 cats under Chris' care. This spring he saved Tess' life. His knowledge as a vet is unsurpassed but if he is unsure of something, he doesn't hesitate to consult with another vet or look it up. He is so compassionate with both the animals AND the parents. He calls us with lab results in the evenings and on weekends and also to check up on whichever cat is sick. He gives us all the time we need during our appt. and listens to every concern we have. We wouldn't take our cats to any other vet. He's everything a vet should be.

Dr. Hines is a brilliant doctor. He not only took excellent care of Gizmo(and saved his life)he also helped me to cope with the part I had to play in the recovery. We will be forever grateful to him. Beyond compassionate.

My dog, Ashley, is almost 13. She has been a healthy dog, but on May 16 she became ill. I took her to her regular vet, and they said nothing was wrong with her. Her blood work was normal and so was her x-ray. I kept telling them she was drooling and panting, in addition to not eating, and they kept telling me she was fine. They referred me to Southern Colorado Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Hines, the dog whisperer, held her and talked to her, and she warmed up to him - and she doesn't do that with anyone. He suggested an ultra sound and an aspiration of her spleen and liver based on the ultrasound. I got to be in the same room with my dog during all the procedures while Dr. Hines and the Vet Tech talked to my dog, kissed her and told her she was such a good dog -which is exactly what I was doing. My dog is fine now with a diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease. There are no words to express my thanks for treating my dog in such a loving, caring manner - and the best part is she will be making me happy for a few more years.
